How to find the MAC address / Physical Address of a computer.
- All computers
The MAC address of a computer may be required when working on licensing issues. MAC stands for Media Access Control and is a unique identifier assigned to network interfaces for communications on the physical network segment.
Go to the Start > Run.
Type "cmd" into the Open field.
In the CMD window, type the command "ipconfig /all".
Locate the connection that the computer is currently using (For this example it is the Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection). You will find the Physical Address (MAC address).
